Amazing turnout for the Nakamura-Tome technical event at ETG On the 11th July we held a technical event showcasing the latest cutting-edge multitasking milling/turning machines from Nakamura-Tome. After opening our doors, we couldn’t believe the incredible response we experienced. Engineers and business owners from all over the UK & Ireland made the trip to join us at our headquarters in Wellesbourne. The event saw presentations from Steve Howes, Nakamura Product Specialist and Oli Riley, Product Manager for Hyfore, presenting heimatec. Once the informative presentations were over it was the turn of Nakamura’s state of the art machines to shine. The technical event concentrated on three of Nakamura’s latest and greatest machines: WT-300 – affectionately known as “the beast”, this 14-tonne behemoth is a heavy-duty machine for heavy duty applications. WT-150II – this versatile machine was demoed with the GR203 gantry attached to create a completely automated manufacturing cell. SC-100 X² – born to be fast, this machine fills a niche by bridging the gap between sliding head and larger twin-turret solutions. The product showcase was only a small part of what made the event such a great success. As Jed Juster of BD Precision Engineering explains, ‘today has been a real eye-opener. We currently use one of Nakamura’s smallest machines, the AC200, and getting to learn more about what Nakamura offer is amazing, not to mention it’s gotten me out of the workshop!’ Jed then commented on ETG, saying, ‘Seeing the variety of machines in the showroom has been fantastic, I had no idea they had such a huge range of other fabrication machines.’ As well as Nakamura machines on display, we also have those from VLB Group and Durma set up and ready for demos due to a previous event celebrating our fabrication Division. It appears that it wasn’t just the Nakamura machines that were a hit! Nakamura-Tome machines are built for speed and precision, they are also designed to be fitted with an automation gantry, turning the CNC machine into a powerhouse of efficiency and versatility. We’ve seen enormous moves in the last decade toward automation. In Europe this has been adopted across the board, allowing manufacturers to increase both revenue and productivity. In Britain the story is a little different, but the pull toward automation is irresistible. The additional gantries create a perfect automation solution and after the demonstrations seen today, the advantages of fitting Nakamura machines with them are plain to see. These incredible machines create replacement hip joints, bone screws, aviation parts such as landing gear as well as essential components for fire extinguishers and sprinklers, bike gears and even fishing reels. Nakamura-Tome is one in a long line of machine manufacturers to discover the benefits of being part of the ETG family. With our turnkey solution, a solid process that ensures you get the best from your machinery throughout its entire lifecycle, a partnership with Nakamura is a no-brainer. Marrying their innovation with our own ensures that we deliver a package offering a lifetime of precision engineered parts, perfect every time. Back to news Visit our Instagram
